Add Page Numbers

About this tool

Court filings, dissertations, and printed handouts all want numbered pages — and most PDF generators forget them. This tool stamps clean page numbers (or "Page N of M") onto every page at the position you choose, without uploading the document anywhere.

How to use

  1. Choose one or more PDFs.
  2. Pick the position (bottom center, right, or left), the starting number, and optionally the "Page N of M" style.
  3. Press "Add numbers & download".

Numbering is applied by pdf-lib in your browser tab — the document itself never leaves your device.

Frequently asked questions

Can I start from a number other than 1?

Yes — set "Start at" to any number, useful when the document continues from another volume or you want the cover page uncounted.

Will the numbers overlap my content?

They are placed in the bottom margin, where standard documents leave space. Pages with unusually full bleeds may need the left or right position instead.
